Mr. Bobbie "Bob" Brooks age 66, made his transition Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Family hour 10:30AM Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, 1258 E. Humphrey, with funeral service at 11AM. Minister Edward Burns, officiating. Dr. Major Stewart, Host Pastor. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, 9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Thursday. Mr. Brooks will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1PM-8PM Wednesday.
Mr. Bobbie "Bob" Brooks was born June 18, 1941 in Elizabeth, South Carolina, to the late Aldester and Bessie Brooks. He attended Flint Schools and graduated from Flint Central High School. Mr. Brooks professed Christ at an early age. He worked for General Motors for 30 years and was a member of UAW Local 599.
Bob's passing leaves to mourn his lost but cherish his memories: devoted daughter, Andrea (Rolande) Stanley; son, Kirmet Lyons; 3 grandchildren, Kareen Brooks, Rhonda Jones and Aaron Griffin, all of Flint; 2 sisters; 2 nieces; many other relatives and friends survive.
