Born in Bladen County, NC, May 3, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Addie Garfied Bronson and Irene Herring Bronson.
Prior to retiring, she was employed at the West Haven V.A. Medical Center as a Dietician.
She is survived by a son, Sidney Bronson; daughters, Kathy Johnson Walker, Lula M. and Margaret A. Bogerty, Irene Bogerty Lowry, Ruth Bogerty Wright and Clara Denise Bogerty Bryant; a brother, Lewis Bronson; sisters, Frances B. Salisbury and Elouise B. Pope; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; and other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by sisters, Louise B. Lee, Ann B. Butcher and Dorothy B. McNair; and brothers, Roscoe, Eddie, Sr., Ellis "Bob," Wilbert and John Bronson.
A celebration of Mrs. Bogerty's life and legacy will be held Friday, October 19, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Matthew's UFWB Church, 400 Dixwell Ave., New Haven. Viewing and visitation will be held at the church from 9:00-11:00 A.M. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
