JOURNAL HERALD, Jackson, Wed, Jan 7, 1987:
Jackson County native Melvin L. Brohard, age 62, of Brush, Colorado, died Monday after suffering a heart attack January 1st.
He recently retired as a sales representative in several states for the Occidental Petroleum Company. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Butler, Indiana, the Masonic Lodge here in Jackson, a 32nd Degree Mason at South Bend, Indiana and the American Legion and Lions Club at Fairmount, Indiana.
Born in the Ray area, he was the son of Charles C. Brohard of Ray and the late Margaret Chamberlin Brohard.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Virginia Brohard; a son, Steven of Indianapolis; a daughter, Melva Leigh Fetters of Auburn, Indiana; two brothers, Ralph of Ray and Charles Emory of Jackson; three sisters, MadelineHoisington of Lakeland, Florida, Marilyn Bender of Columbus and Georgian Denune of Granville; and three grandchildren.
Services and burial will be held in Fairmount, Indiana under the direction of the Hunts Funeral Home, Fairmount.
