Joseph BROSECHE, 66, of 710 Vine, was reported in serious but stable condition Friday morning and his granddaughter, Janet BROESCHE, 17, of Lake Jackson was in satisfactory condition at Hendrick Memorial Hospital where they were admitted Thursday after a fatal two-car collision near Comanche on Highway 36.
BROESCHE's wife, 65, another granddaughter, Susan BROESCHE, 14, of Lake Jackson and Mrs. Emma JONES, 76, of Rt. 5 Comanche, driver of one of the cars, were killed.
Funeral for Mrs. BROESCHE and her granddaughter Susan will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First Central Presbyterian Church at Fourth and Orange Streets. Rev. Joe OWEN and Rev. Wallace FARIS will officiate.
Burial for Mrs. BROESCHE will be in Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene. Burial for Susan will be in Restwood Cemetery at Clute under direction of North's Funeral Home.
Born Jan. 21, 1907, at Navasota, Mrs. BROIESCHE was raised there and married J. H. BROESCHE Nov. 10, 1928. They moved to Abilene, where they had lived since Mr. BROESCHE retired in 1971 after serving 43 years with the West Texas Utilities Co. as head of the distribution department.
Survivors are her husband; two sons, Gerald of Lake Jackson and Edwin of 2325 Elmwood; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. John MIKESKA of Bellville; one brother, Raymond UECHKERT of Houston.
