Theodore “Ted” Gerald Broersma 77 of Outlook passed away April 19, 2016 at his home with his family by his side. He was born June 29, 1938 in Ruthton, Minnesota to Lawrence and Grace (Wichers) Broersma. As an infant he moved with his family to Zillah WA and later to Everson WA. He grew up with his 8 brothers and 4 sisters on the family dairy. After school he tried his hand at many occupations, dairying, construction, and orderly in a hospital until he joined the Air Force in 1959. After leaving the Air Force in 1962 he married his sweetheart Dena Honcoop in 1963. Together they raised 3 children.
During his career, he worked as a mechanic, owned a janitorial company “Valley Professional Carpet Cleaning”, and finally washing windows well into his retirement. Dad loved to be busy and found joy in working on his home, his yard and garden, restoring old Volkswagen’s, and driving bus for Sunnyside Christian School. In his free time he enjoyed riding motorcycle, completing a number of cross-country trips. He especially enjoyed his 5 AM coffee club at the Granger Conoco.

Ted is preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Grace, one brother Garrett, and 3 brothers-in-law. He is survived by his beloved wife Dena of 52 years, his children Dean(Sharla) Broersma, Alison (Kelan) Birnbaum, Fredrick (Julie) Broersma. 10 grandchildren, 6 brothers, 4 sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
