Daniel Brodhead III
He was an early Pa. settler who came with his family from Ulster County, New York in 1735. He purchased 240-acre tract that he called Dansbury Manor. He was a neighbor to the Depuy family about three miles away. His son Daniel earned a reputation as a military commander in the American Revolution (Berks Co. Pa resident at the time). Other sons, Luke and Garrett served in the Revolutionary War effort also while living near their father. Daniel Brodhead did not live to see the new nation--he died in Bethlehem while seeking medical attention there. His body lies in the Old Moravian Cemetery in Bethlehem, Pa.

Born 20 April 1693 in Marbletown, Ulster County, New York.
Died 22 July 1755 on a visit to Bethlehem, Northampton County, Pennsylvania.

"The line of descent from the founder of the family came through Richard Brodhead and his wife Magdalena Jensen. He was born in 1666, and died in 1758, while his wife died in 1707. Their only son Daniel, who established the family in Pennsylvania, was born April 20, 1693…"
