Esther B. Brockling, 72, died Friday evening, Jan. 10, 1997, in Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, from complications of surgery. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, St. John's Catholic Church, by the Rev. Aloysius Vorwald. Burial: church cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Tuesday at Reiff Funeral Home, Independence, where a rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. and a parish vigil service begins at 7 p.m.
Survivors include a daughter, Janet Jentz of Independence; a son, Tom of Grand Forks, N.D.; four sisters, Cleo Roberts of Arbor Vitas, Wis., Ruth Larsen of Kenosha, Wis., Nadia Frankie of Mounds, Minn., and Geraldine Wrege of Mellen, Wis.; and a brother, James Gilbert of Johnston.
Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and a great-grandson.
