Funeral services were held Saturday, February 06, 1982, from the Church of God, Lemmon, for Adam Brockel, longtime Bison, South Dakota, area resident. Brockel died in Five Counties Hospital at Lemmon on February 03, 1982. Revereend Robert Seyda and Reverend Glyndon Logsdon officiated at the rites. Burial was in Greenhill Cemetery.
Brockel was born September 27, 1902, at Mound City, South Dakota, to Philip Brockel and Christina Kallenberger. He received his education at Mound City and moved to a farm southeast of Bison in 1926. He was married ro Elizabeth Wagner, December 10, 1927, at McIntosh, South Dakota. They had lived on the farm near Bison until his death. He was a member of the Church of God, Lemmon, and served on the township board and was voted an hononary member of the WCTU.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth of Bison; four daughters, Delores (Chris) Kaubisch of rural Lemmon, Ruth Brockel of Bison, Mrs. Grace Bright of San Antonio, Texas, and Judith (Elwood) Harder of Huron, South Dakota.
Four grandchildren, his parents, four brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
