Birth: Feb. 16, 1832
Cocke County
Tennessee, USA
Death: Feb. 8, 1916
Kansas City
Jackson County
Missouri, USA

Twin sister of John Wesley Faubion.

From an unknown, undated newspaper:

Mrs. A. S. Broadhurst
Mrs. Elizabeth J. Broadhurst was born in Tennessee, Feb. 16, 1832; died at the home of her son, C. F. Broadhurst, 3715 Prospect Ave., Kansas City, Mo., Feb 8, 1916, aged 84 years, minus 8 days. She moved with her father's family in 1832 to Clay county, Mo., at which place she resided a number of years. She was married to Alfred S. Broadhurst in March, 1850. To this union were born nine children - eight sons and one daughter - all of whom survive her. In 1873 she, with her family, moved to Johnson county where she lived until 1900 when owing to failing health of the husband and father it was deemed best for them to live with their sons in Kansas City, Mo. She laid her faithful husband to rest August 24, 1913.
Her last illness dates back three weeks during which time she was a great sufferer. All that loving children and kind faithful friends could do was of no avail. The Master said: "Thou has fought a good fight; thou hast finished thy course; henceforth there is laid up for thee a crown of righteousness."
The funeral was held from the home of her son, C. F. Broadhurst, 3715 Prospect Ave., at 2:30 p.m. Feb 10, the sermon being preached by the Rev. W.H. Comer of the Olive street M.E. church south. Two beautiful solos, "Jesus Savior, Pilot Me," and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," were rendered. The many lovely floral offerings spoke of the high esteem in which she was held by her many friends. "The Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord." Burial was made in Forest Hill cemetery by the side of her husband.
