Mrs. Doris Bimson, 49, passed away Friday evening in Rose Hospital where she had been a patient since May 8. She had been ill since last November.
She was born in Lancashire, England February 1, 1910, daughter of John and Elizabeth Prescott Broadhurst. On August 3, 1931, she was married to John Bimson of Lancashire. He lost his life on March 3, 1941, during World War II
She came to this country in July of 1954, and lived in Rome except for a few months in New Orleans. For some time prior to her illness she was employed in the kitchen at Rose Hospital, Central New York School for the Deaf and Rome Home.
She was a member of the Church of England and since coming to Rome had attended Zion Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Bimson was the last of her family. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mickey Sammartino, Clinton St., and Mrs. James Greenall, Sixth St., two sons, Leslie and Robert Allan Bimson, both of Rome,and seven grandchildren.
