Lyndon Theodore Broadhead, 88, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on April 16, 2011 in St. George, Utah.

He was born October 17, 1922 in Cardston, Alberta, Canada.

He was raised in Beazer, Alberta, Canada and married Ardath Ainscough on June 4, 1942 in the Cardston, Alberta Temple.

He farmed and ranched in Beazer with his dad and then worked as an auto mechanic in Salt Lake City for several years before starting his own auto repair business in Granger, known as Broadhead Automotive, for thirty-one years.

His love for music started in Canada as he played in an orchestra with his uncle and cousins. He also had a small orchestra in Salt Lake City from 1954 to 1963 and sang in ward choirs and was chorister in several wards. He loved to sing with his sons!

He and Ardath served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana Mission from 1987 to 1988.

He was a High Priest in the Knolls Ward in St. George and served in many church positions throughout his life.

He is survived by Ardath, his loving wife of almost sixty-nine years; sons, Brian (Linda), Donald (Kathy), Wayne (Mary Lou), Gordon (Jane Christine "Becky"), Kent (Sharon), Gary (Lorna), and Paul (Darla); brothers, Dennis (LaVonne) and Raymond (Fran); twenty-nins grandchildren; and thirty-two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by infant son, David; grandsons, Jay and David; parents, Jesse and Elfrieda; sister, Zalia Wilde; and brother, Dean Morris.

Funeral services will held on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Centennial Park Ward Chapel, 3372 South 5275 West, West Valley City. Viewings will be held on Friday, April 22, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road (1700 West), Taylorsville, and prior to the services at the church on Saturday from 10:00-10:45 a.m.
Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
