Leonard Earl Brixey, a resident of the Crosbyton community for over 40 years, was claimed by death at 3 p.m. Sunday in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital following a lengthy illness. Mr. Brixey was 79.
Memorial services were at 4:30 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church. The Rev. Bobby Rine, pastor, officiated.

Interment was made in Crosbyton Cemetery. Adams Funeral Home directed arrangements.

A farmer, Mr. Brixey was born March 10, 1904, in Seymour, Missouri.

He and the former Maudie Lou Jordan were married Feb. 22, 1922, in Henrietta, Tex. Mrs. Brixey preceded her husband in death Feb. 8, 1983.

The couple moved to Crosbyton in 1942.

Survivors include one son, Jack Brixey of Crosbyton; one daughter, Tessibel Flournoy of Crosbyton; three brothers, Ralph Brixey of Henrietta, Frank Brixey of Booneville, Ark., and Jasper Brixey of Weslaco; one sister, Mary Roof of Venice, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Another daughter, Beatrice Karr, succumbed Dec. 27, 1975
