Aaron Britton, 78, of Hearne, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2009, at his residence.
Visitation will be from 12 to 3 p.m. Friday, September 25, at Glenn Mack Funeral Home in Hearne.
A wake service is scheduled from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, at Old Elam Missionary Baptist Church.
Services are set for 1 p.m. Saturday, September 26, at Old Elam Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. F.C. Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery with a military ceremony performed by the U.S. Army Honor Guard.
Aaron Britton was born on March 12, 1931, in Hearne to Dee and Lula Bell Britton. He graduated from Calvert High School. He was a deacon at Old Elam Missionary Baptist Church.
He was a very active community member, founder of The Daryl Moody Center, a member of the Williamette choir group, worked with the Hearne Police Department and Crime Stoppers and also Vice President of Greater Riverside Cemetery Association.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and community.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Nancy (Wright) Britton.
Survivors include his wife, Jimmie Britton; sons, Marvin, Aaron Jr. and Richard Britton; daughters, Ella Clayton, Margaret Muckelroy and Lenora Tyrone; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, neices, nephews, other family and numerous dear friends.
