George Britton, 81, of 2201 Lincoln Drive, Williamsport, died Sunday, August 12, 2001 at home. His wife Catherine B. Britton died Sept. 12, 2000.
Born August 7, 1920 in S. Williamsport, he was the son of George and Lena Gaugler Britton.
He retired in 1980 as the owner of Britton's Hauling. He was a former member of Loyalsock Twp. Vol. Fire Co., 25 years and was a captain.
Surviving are 1 son, Carl Britton of Williamsport; 1 daughter, Carol Randall of Cogan Station; 1 grandson, Rodney Starr of Cogan Station and 1 granddaughter, Carrie Bissett of Norfolk, VA.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2001 at Kaufman Funeral Home, 2102 Northway Road, Williamsport, with the Rev. David Bixler of Emmanuel Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m
