Lillian Briscoe was born, Feb. 14, 1927 to Mr. Green Briscoe and Bessie (Cole) Briscoe in Porter, OK.
Both parents preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death, brothers, Albert and Leonard Briscoe; sisters, Alma Johnson, Gaynella Lawson and Elva Bridgewater.
Lillian attended public schools in Muskogee, OK. She was added to the Church of Christ as a young woman. She faithfully attended the Church of Christ in Red Bird, OK.
In 1947 she met and married Billy W. Barnett and together they reared two daughters. For 44 years they lived on their farm in Haskell, OK, (Billy Barnett precedes her in death).
Lillian loved the farm life, she raised chickens, turkeys, planted gardens and loved flowers and being outdoors.
Lillian's health began to decline following a stroke in 2004. She departed this life June 27, 2010 in Wichita, KS.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Bessie Whiters, Wichita, KS; granddaughter, Sherry Barnett, great-grandson, Jason McCauley, great granddaughter, Janel Bell, brother, Vernon Briscoe, sister, Mary Strickland, 7 great-great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
A Home Going celebration will be conducted, Tuesday, at 10:30 a.m. in the Church of Christ, 18th & Denison St. with Bro. Eric Rogers, officiating. Interment will follow in Booker T. Washington cemetery.
The family has been cared for by Granger-House of Winn Funeral Home. Visitation, Monday, 12 noon until 6 p.m. Online condolences and registry may be expressed at www.houseofwinn.com
