In 1855, he started work in mercantile business with Abram Blymeyer until 1877. He was elected as associate judge of Mifflin county in 1891 for a five year term.

Brisbin of the City of Mexico, Mexico; Abraham B. Brisbin of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Mrs. G. L. Russell of Lewistown and Miss Helen Brisbin, who resided with her father at home.
