Wife of George Washington Briles.
Mrs. Briles died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. 'Richard Batton Wednesday, June 9th, after a long illness.
The funeral was held Friday afternoon in the Congregational church and the interment was made in the Maple Hill cemetery. Services were conducted by Rev. E. J. Laird, pastor of the Methodist church.
The singing was by a quartet, composed of Mrs. F. M. Webb, Miss Jo Button, E. B. Poison and Will Smith, with Miss Mae Kinkade pianist.
Mrs. Briles is survived by three children, Mrs. Richard Batton, Jake Briles and Will Briles, of this place, besides a number of grandchildren.
In her younger days she was a member of the German Lutheran church. She was 84 years of age.
