REXBURG - Barry H. Bright, 60, of Rexburg, an accountant and LDS Church leader, died Nov. 3, 1993, in Madison Memorial Hospital of cancer.

He was born Jan. 7, 1933, at Teton, to Bud and Edna Hollist Bright. He grew up in Teton, where he attended elementary schools. He graduated from South Fremont High School in St. Anthony, and received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Brigham Young University at Provo, Utah, in 1958.

On June 13, 1958, he married Donna Seely in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He served as an LDS Chaplain in the U.S. Air Force, and was discharged with the rank of first lieutenant in 1962. They had lived in San Antonio, Texas, Salt Lake City, Denver, and Bountiful, Utah, before moving to Rexburg in 1977. In Rexburg, he worked for several businesses as an accountant.

As an active member of the LDS Church, he served a three-year mission in New Zealand, as bishop, stake high counselor, president of the elders' quorum, and was serving in the Sunday school presidency at the time of his death.

Survivors include his wife of Rexburg; children, Mrs. Mark (Beki) Alder of Centerville, Utah, Tai Bright of Kaysville, Utah, and Trent

Bright of New York; his mother of Teton; two brothers, Dennis Bright of Bountiful, Utah, and Darris Bright of Teton; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Rexburg LDS East Stake Center, 387 S. 400 East, with Bishop David Pack officiating. The family will visit with friends at the church Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday for one hour before services. Burial will be in Teton-Newdale Cemetery under the direction of Bidwell Funeral Home in St. Anthony.
