Chico Semi Weekly Record, Saturday, July 5, 1904, pg 6 col 4: Remains of Clara Brigham At Rest. The remains of Mrs. Clara Brigham, who died at West Branch Friday, were brought to Chico Saturday evening by Undertaker Kingsfield of the firm of Fetters & Williams, and the funeral took place Sunday afternoon.
Mrs. Brigham had been a sufferer for seven months. When she returned from Michigan with her husband seven months ago and went to West Branch, she became ill within an hour after arrival. An abscess formed from which she received little relief until death ended her suffering Friday.
Deceased was the wife of R.E. Brigham, who became an employee at the Sierra Lumber Company’s mill. She was born in Oregon, but resided there only two years. With her parents she came to California and located in Yolo county. From there she came to Chico ten years ago, and about two years ago went to Michigan, returning to California after a stay in the east of about a year and a half. She was aged 37 years, 3 months and 3 days, and leaves a husband and two little daughters, the elder being eleven years of age and the younger three years.
During her long and most painful illness she was a patient sufferer. The funeral took place Sunday in Chico.
