PRAIRIE - Barry Lee Bridger, 44, died, Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, at the University Medical Center in Jackson. He was born Jan. 6, 1963, in Clay County to Eula Bell Barnes and Joe Allen Bridger. He was a draftsman for Magnolia Steel, and also for Ellis Steel for 30 years. He was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Lampkin officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Methodist Church in Una. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his mother, Eula B. Bridger of Prairie; two sisters, Sue Wilson (Paul) of Columbus and Debbie Smothers (Larry) of West Point; one brother, Noel Bridger of Prairie; and nieces and nephews, Eddie Wilson, Paula Thompson, Mia Vick, Lori Smothers and Kirk Smothers, all of West Point, and Angela Hollingsworth and Renay Moore of Houston.
He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, John William Bridger; a sister, Lois Brand; and a nephew, James Allen Brand.
Pallbearers will be Tim Thompson, Rodney McKnight, Rob Vick, Wade Hamilton, Eddie Wilson, Marty Grubbs, Donnie Baker and Johnny Jackson.
Honorary pallbearers will be doctors and nurses of Baptist Memorial-Columbus ICU, doctors and nurses of University Medical Center in Jackson and the staff and co-workers of Magnolia Steel of Meridian.
Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. today at Calvert Funeral Home.
