Prairie – Lois Allen Bridger Brand, 58, died Thursday, March 29, 2001 of heart failure at Floy Dyer Nursing Home in Houston. Services were held Saturday, March 31, 2001 at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church near the Una Community with Bro. Hugh Holder-Cummings and Bro. Jim Hilderbrand officiating. Burial was in McCondy Cemetery.
Mrs. Brand was born February 26, 1943 in Clay County to Joe Allen and Eula Belle Barnes Bridger. She was retired from Pep Industries in Houston and was a member of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by one son, James Allen Brand, and one brother, Willie Bridger.
Survivors include her parents, Joe Allen Bridger and Eula Belle Barnes Bridger; two daughters, Angela Leigh Brand Hollingsworth of Houston and Renay Brand Moore and husband, Jason K., of Houston; two sisters, Sue Bridger Wilson of Columbus and Debra Bridger Smothers of West Point; two brothers, Noel A Bridger of Prairie and Barry L Bridger of West Point; four grandchildren, Jake Hollingsworth, T K Hollingsworth, Tyler Moore and Hunter Moore, all of Houston; her mother-in-law, Nan Brand of Trebloc; and her former husband and special friend, James Brand of Trebloc.
Pallbearers were Jason Moore, Paul Wilson, Eddie Wilson, Larry Smothers, Clark Baker and Gene Grubbs.
