Private Brey, a 27 year old bricklayer residing in Montgomery County, Pa., enrolled June 18, 1861, at Easton,Pa. and was mustered in at Harrisburg July 29. He served in Company H, 3rd Reserve 31st Infantry. He was discharged July 28, 1864.
The Philadelphia Record; Thursday, May 25, 1916, Page 14:
"BREY – On May 23, 1916, ADAM S., husband of the late Catharine M. Brey, aged 83 years. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services, on Thursday evening, at 8 o'clock, at his late residence, Merion and Lawson ave., Penfield, Delaware county, Pa. Take Philadelphia & Western electric train at the 69th St. Terminal for Penfield. Interment at Hillside Cemetery, on Friday, on the arrival of the train leaving Reading Terminal, 1.43 P. M."
