SHERRILL George W. Brewster, 76, of Sherrill, N.Y., passed away Monday, Jan. 22, 2018 surrounded by his loved ones. George was born in Oneida, N.Y. on May 25, 1941. He married Barbara Bogue on the weather record breaking day of Dec. 10, 1966 when the temperature reached over 75 degrees. George and Barbara shared 51 years of happiness together. He was the superintendent of Glenwood Cemetery in Oneida for 37 years until he retired in 2009.His childhood best friends, Chick McLaughlin, Clem Scheible, John McArthur and Gary Streeter, stayed by his side throughout his life. George is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Cher Brewster; three grandchildren, Issa, Noor, and Sammy; his two brothers, Richard Brewster, and Robert (Claudia) Brewster; and a special brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Guy (Judy) Bogue and Cora Bogue and several nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his two sisters, Eva Schultheis and Jean Destito. There will be no calling hours or funeral service per George's wishes.The Fiore Funeral Home, 303 Main St., Oneida, N.Y. is in charge the arrangements.
