TIMOTHY BREWSTER was the first-born son of the Rev. NATHANIEL BREWSTER and SARAH LUDLOW. TIMOTHY married MARY HAWKINS about 1685 in Suffolk Co., NY, and he left but a few traces of his life and times as follows:
"The American Genealogist and New Haven Genealogical Magazine", Volume XII, p. 157, states that Timothy "was Town Clerk of Brookhaven from 1688 to 1711, and died there between 1741 and 1749. Timothy was also Town Assessor and a Justice from 1716 to 1721. He and his wife, Mary Hawkins, are buried in the Presbyterian Churchyard in Setauket. However, their tombstones can no longer be read."
