Helen Louise Brewington Banks, 68, of Frankford, DE passed away surrounded by her loving family at home on August 27, 2012. Born on January 26, 1944 in Millsboro, she was the daughter of the late George Edwin Brewington, Sr. and Agnes Marie Clouser Brewington. She was a vibrant, fun and sometimes ornery woman who was devoted to her family and friends, passionate about politics and current events and loved all animals and birds, especially her feline and canine friends. She served as an office manager for 44 years at the Banks Company, Inc., and had previously worked as a dental hygienist in New Jersey for awhile. She loved sports of all kinds, was a team golfer, NASCAR fan, and avid fan of NASA and the Space Program. She was a great tease, and enjoyed getting a playful joke over on anyone who got one on her, but especially her brother, Paul. She was a fan of Fox News and was especially pleased Paul Ryan was named to the Romney ticket. She enjoyed her family very much, and as she passed – a double rainbow formed outside, directly in front of her house. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Gerald Banks who passed in 2002. She is survived by her siblings: Anna Lee Lewis, of Lewis, DE; Marie DeCelles, of Frankford, DE; Josephine Adams, and husband Fred, of Dagsboro, DE; June Joseph, and husband Ronald, of Millsboro, DE; George Edwin Brewington, Jr., and wife Marian, of Milford, DE; Kenneth Brewington, and wife Debbie, of Millsboro, DE; Sister-in-Law Rosalie Brewington, of Georgetown, DE; and Paul Brewington, of Frankford. She is also survived by her Brother-in-Law, Jeffrey Banks, and his wife Barbara and Sister-in-Law: Marla Daisey, and her husband Robert – all of Frankford, DE. In addition, she is survived by her Mother-in-Law “Banks” Mrs. Irene Elliott, of Seaford, DE. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family along with many, many friends. Interment is at a private ceremony in Carey’s Cemetery, Frankford, DE. In Lieu of Flowers, the family suggests contributions either the Shriner’s Hospital for Children; 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607; or to Home of the Brave, 6632 Sharps Road, Milford, DE 19963; or to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 1996
