A long time resident of El Paso, Texas, Frances had resided in Bertram since the death of her husband, Ralph Eugene Barton in March 2012. She is also preceded by Billy Antilley, first husband, who was lost at sea in World War II; sisters: Yvonne Fraser, Gwendolyn Fincher and brother, Bill Brewer. Left to mourn her passing are their children: Kathryn Lesly (Odell), Linda Tanksley (Spencer), Jim Barton (LuAnne), Nancy Barnett and Brenda McMeans. Also surviving are grandchildren: William Lesly (Shauntay), Kristi Carrasco (Carlos), Colin Tanksley (Susan), Courtney Tanksley, Isaac, Rebekah, Aaron and Sydney Barton, Jennifer and Daren Baca, and Ethan Barnett. Great Grandchildren include: Alexis, Nicholas, and Isabella Licon, Cole and Cade Tanksley, Eric Read and Andrew Lesly. In addition, she is survived by sisters: Bette June Pitcock and Norma Murphy; and beloved dog, Buddy. Frances worked a number of jobs in her lifetime and had many friends as a result of those endeavors, but chose to build her life primarily around family. She was active in church, PTA and 4-H clubs as well as many other events her children participated in. Aside from being the consummate mother and wife, Frances may very well be best remembered by many as the ideal friend. She had a way of meeting their childrens friends and parents and making them lifetime friends. An avid knitter, Frances presented every family member with a personalized heirloom stocking which will be treasured for years to come. In Lieu of flowers a contribution may be made to the Alzheimers Association or charity of your choice in her name. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m, Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home-Americas.
