Delois Brewer Black, of Black Springs, passed away at her home on Thursday, October 28, 2010.

She was born on August 10, 1932, to Clarence E. Brewer and Faye O. Cowart Brewer. On August 20, 1949, she married the love of her life, Marvin Black.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Floyd "Butch" Black; and her grandson, Darren Fryar.

She was a devoted member of Murphy Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Marvin Black of Black Springs; one daughter-in-law, Deborah Black of Black Springs; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and James Gaston and Marilyn and Steve Warren all of Black Springs; two sons and daughters-in-law, James E. "Cub" and Diann Black of Black Springs and Joey and Lynette Black of Stamps; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister and brother-in-law, Anna and Austin Black of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Melba Brewer of Black Springs; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 31, 2010, at the Murphy Baptist Church with Bro. Dale Howell officiating.

Visitation will be held Saturday evening, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Murphy Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Russell Fryar, Jim Gaston, Paul Black, Randy Black, Christopher Warren, Shane Black, Brian Bailey and Lance York.

Honorary pallbearers will be her wonderful caregivers from Hospice Homecare - Gina, Pat, Amy, Brenda, Cheri and Beverly.
