Mrs. Ada F. Brewer, 85, of West Point died Sunday, April 25, 1999, at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, Ga.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, April 29 at 2 p.m. at New Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in West Point with the Revs. Jerome Spence and G.L. Fannings officiating. Burial will follow in Marseilles Cemetery in West Point.
Mrs. Brewer is survived by two daughters, Gay (Charles) Allen of Chicago, Ill. and Linda (Samuel) Heard of West Point; her son, George Brewer of West Point; two sisters, Carrie Mitchell and Thelma Fitzpatrick, both of Lanett; her brother, Ernest Finely of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a devoted niece, Juanita Thornhill of West Point; a devoted nephew, Darries Hutchinson of West Point; 20 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
Born Dec. 10, 1913, in Chambers County, Ala., Mrs. Brewer was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in LaFayette. She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Brewer, and two sons, Jessie Gunn Jr. and Willie C. Gunn.
The body will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour.
