On May 8, 1942 he married Helen Louise Crockett and they made their home in Hopewell before moving to Dallas in 1955. He served his country proudly in the United States Army in Europe and Africa.
He was the owner of Charlie Brewer Construction from 1950 until his retirement in 1980 where they did home and commercial construction. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Eustace. He enjoyed farming and gardening.
