Birth: May 19, 1923
Death: Nov. 15, 2003

Sylvia Bressler Kass , a loving wife, wonderful mother and grandmother, passed
away peacefully Nov. 15, 2003.

Sylvia was married to her beloved husband, Stanley, for 60 years. Together, they
raised three sons, Paul, Leonard and William. Her children and grandchildren,
Aaron and Sally-Ann, will be forever grateful for the warmth, kindness and
generosity of her heart which she always opened to each of them.

Although she was a 60-year resident of Virginia, her birthplace, Brooklyn, N.Y.,
was always where she called home. She was predeceased by her loving parents,
Louis and Sadie Bressler, and her three siblings, Morris, Samuel and Gertrude.
She was a lifetime member of Hadassah, Women's American ORT, Temple Israel
Sisterhood and Brith Sholom.

Sylvia's wonderful smile and kind words for all of those she met - be it young
or old, black or white, or rich or poor - was a testament to her gentle and
loving soul. She was, and will always be, an inspiration to her family, Paul,
Lenny, Janeen and Sally-Ann, and Billy, Janet and Aaron. She loved her extended
family - Bev, Buddy and Pat - and felt so very loved by each of them. They too
will always love and miss her kindness, her laughter and wisdom. Her humanity
and decency toward all of those whose lives she touched will be forever
ingrained in each of them. We loved her with all our hearts and will miss her
sweetness. Her husband will always fondly recollect the wonderful times they
enjoyed together, and the love they shared.

The family would like to thank all of her care givers at the Beth Sholom Home of
Eastern Virginia for their kindness. We give a special thanks to Stephanie
Watson for her dedication these past three years. The family will always be
grateful to each of you. A graveside service will be conducted 12:30 p.m.
Tuesday at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk by Rabbi Michael Panitz.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Beth Sholom Home of Eastern
Virginia or to Temple Israel. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk Chapel, is
handling arrangements.
