According to various sources, the daughter of John & Elizabeth Douthit. In Sep 1818, she married James Ellis. James Ellis died on 8 Mar 1843, & she married James Brent on 3 Dec 1854. James Brent died on 7 Jan 1886. They had no children.
Per Joyce Riggs: Martia Stacy Douthit was born in Lincoln County, married James Ellis. He was killed in an accident after they had fifteen children. They had a large farm and the county boundries changed and the farm was later in Moore County. She married a James Brent and had no more children. No account of him or where he was from.

1860, 11th CD census of LCT shows Stacey w/ spouse James Brent (60) and Wiley Ellis(19) & Jessie Ellis(16). Living next to John Cunningham and Squire Pickle. Next to Cunningham was S S Smith, (Samuel S Smith)
