Beloved Lady of This Section Is Claimed By Death Monday
Mrs. Wm. Breithaupt, a beloved lady of the Wildwood section who was in very ill health was brought to this city last week to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Taylor, where she could secure better medical attention. For a time she seemed to be getting along very nicely, but unknown to all Death was nearby, unknown to family and friends, and claimed his victim early Monday morning at a time when it was thought she was getting along most satisfactorily. The blow was hard to family and friends of this excellent lady. Funeral arrangements were made and the body laid to rest in the Masonic Cemetery here Tuesday afternoon, from the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Taylor, the funeral being largely attended by people from all over this section, where Mrs. Breithaupt had loved so long and was so greatly beloved.
Pall bearers were as follows: Willie and Edwin Wienken, Willie Schwegmann, Lewis Breithaupt, Lawrence Wienken, Diedrich Schwegmann. Honorary pall bearers named by the family were Messrs. Henry Poppe, Alfred Kainer, Emil Kahlden, Anton Beck, Emil Christ, Chas. Stech, Harry Taylor, August Juergens, John Krhovjak, Lewis Kubenka and Oscar Brandt.
Frieda Helene Bertha Wienken was born Jan. 20, 1884, and was baptized and confirmed at Holman, Texas by Rev. J. Frehner. In the year 1902, July 23, she was united in marriage to Mr. Wilhelm Breithaupt. The couple settled in the Holman section, later moving to Colorado county where they lived on the Berger place, where the remainder of her life was spent. She leaves to mourn her departure her bereaved husband and twelve living children and follows: Mrs. Aug. Mrazek of Holman, Mrs. Alfred Koym of New Bielau, Mrs. Henry Taylor of Weimar, Mrs. Norbert Stech of Content, Mrs. Ewald Brandt of Osage, Misses Phala, Olga and Viola Breithaupt of Weimar; Mr. Willie Breithaupt, Jr., of Oakland, MR. Reinhard Breithaupt of Shiner, Emil and Ewald of Weimar; one brother, Mr. Willie Wienken of Weimar; stepmother, Mrs. Rebecca Spark of Galveston; three half brothers, Otto of Alice, Herman of Hallettsville and Emil of Columbus; seven grandchildren.
Mrs. Breithaupt was a kind and lovable, good woman, wife and mother. She was known and greatly beloved throughout this section and her passing has brought deep sorrow to many homes and hearts. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to her bereaved ones.
Those from a distance who attended Mrs. Breithaupt's funeral included Mrs. Rebecca Spark, MR. and Mrs. Andrew Lind, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Lind, Galveston; MR. and Mrs. Herman Wienken and son, Hallettsville; Mr. Otto Wienken and family, Alice; MR. and Mrs. Emil Wienken, Columbus; Mr. Fred Breithaupt and family, Shiner.
