Bernard A. Breighner, Sr., of Littlestown, departed this life on the evening of August 18, 2013. He was the husband of Nancy J. (Duttera) Breighner who died November 15, 2000.

Born March 16, 1929, in Abbottstown, he was the son of the late Lewis and Margaret Kuhn Breighner.

Bernard was a 1948 graduate of Delone Catholic High School.

He served in the U.S. Navy and retired from SKF of Hanover as a machinist.

Bernard was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Littlestown and the McSherrystown Home Assoc. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by four sons, Bernard Breighner Jr., Michael Breighner and Christopher Breighner, all of Littlestown and Lawrence Breighner of Lucketts, VA; daughters Margaret Sauble and Elizabeth Miller, both of Hanover; 17 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marion Paszek of Maryland.

In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Rita Breighner and many brothers and sisters.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. August 22, 2013, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Littlestown with The Rev. James M. Sterner Celebrant. Inurnment will be in the Parish Cemetery.
