November 8, 1931 – March 14, 2012

Maria Breemer of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, March 14 2012 at the age of 80 years.

Maria was born in Mijdrecht, Utrecht, Netherlands and immigrated to Canada in 1952. After marrying Peter in 1954, the young couple first resided in Calgary then moved to Northern Alberta to start farming. For many years they farmed in Teepee Creek and Clairmont where Maria worked hard with Peter raising four children as well over time, running a farm which included grain, cattle, pigs and finally sheep. Maria still found time to be active with the Christian Reformed Church in Grande Prairie and associated Ladies Aid and Bible study groups. Retirement in 1989 saw Peter and Maria move to Calgary where they enjoyed seeing much more of their Southern Alberta relatives and enjoyed extensive travel. She also volunteered with Peter at the Food Bank and Bibles For Missions Thrift Shop. Following Peter's passing, Maria became a resident of Wentworth Manor where she met new friends and enjoyed a variety of activities.
