GREENSBORO Berniece "Bunny" Gamble Breedlove, 92, of Greensboro passed away peacefully on January 26, 2012 at her residence at Friends Home Guilford. She was born March 12, 1919 in the Centre Community, Guilford County, NC. Her parents are the late Charles Vance Gamble and Maude Coltrane Gamble.

Bunny, as she was known to many friends, was preceded in death by her husband, James Radford Breedlove in 1972 and her son Kenneth Radford Breedlove in 1992. She is survived by daughters: Elaine Gray Maloney and husband, Tom Maloney of Georgetown, TX; June Carol Lee and husband Ernest D. Lee of Jefferson City, TN; and Nina Charlene Suddeth and husband B. Noland Suddeth of Charlotte, NC. Her grandchildren are Joel Lee, Phillip Lee, John Breedlove, and Graham Suddeth. She also is survived by a loving brother, Joseph P. Gamble of High Point; daughter-in-law Susan Webb Breedlove of Coeur d'Alene, ID; and many nieces and nephews.

Bunny was valedictorian and captain of the girls' basketball team for the class of 1936 at Sumner High School in south Guilford County. She resided in Winston-Salem for 40 years where she was an active member of Knollwood Baptist Church in the Mary Martha Sunday School Class. She worked as a valued secretary in Winston-Salem for many years. She retired in 1985 from R.J. Reynolds Industries where she worked in the Employee Counseling Department.

Bunny was a fun-loving friend to many people in North Carolina. She had many favorite pastimes including playing banjo, piano, tennis; travel; following ACC basketball and writing poetry. She loved to work and see the results of her work, whether in an office; her vegetable garden; or taking care of family. She passed to her family her deep love of education, travel, reading, and the performing arts. She had a deep and fulfilling life and we will miss her.

There will be a memorial service in the living room at Friends Home Guilford at 1:30 pm Saturday, February 11, 2012 followed by a family visitation. The graveside service will be held at Centre Friends Meeting Saturday, February 11, 2012, at 3:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends Home Guilford, 925 New Garden Road, Greensboro, NC 27410; or Knollwood Baptist Church (designate Missions), 330 Knollwood St., Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
