Garnet Marie Rosner Breakiron, 72, of Hopwood, Pennsylvania passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at her home.
Garnet was born on October 24, 1936 in Uniontown, Pennsyl-vania, the daughter of William Rosner and Edna Yowler Rosner.
Garnet was a member of Cherry Tree Alliance Church, Uniontown, where she served on the Hostess Committee and was a MOPS Mentor.
She was a past member of Grace Brethren Church and Calvary Baptist Church both in Uniontown where she was actively involved in teaching Sunday School and also Bible School. She was also involved in the Nursing Home Ministry.
Garnet and her husband Wendell were owners of the Farmers Feed and Supply of Hopwood for 26 years.
She graduated in the Class of 1954 from the former South Union High School.
Garnet was a member and past President of the Hopwood Garden Club and a member of the Fayette County Fair Association and past member of the Fayette County 4-H Extension Board.
Garnet is survive by her husband of 54 years, Wendell Breakiron; children: Cindy Geller and husband Donald Jr. of Lexington Park, Maryland, Randy Breakiron of Hopwood, Pa., Charlotte DeCarlo and husband Tony of New Salem, Pa., Laura Schnatterly and husband Eric of Hopwood, Pa.; nine grandchildren: Donald Geller III, Christopher Geller, Gregory Geller, Randy Lynn Breakiron, Heath Breakiron, Kelsey Breakiron, Toni Marie DeCarlo, Jenna Schnatterly, William Schnatterly; two great grandchildren: Nicholas Geller and Abigail Geller; two sisters: Deloris Cole and husband Jim, Patty Burchard and husband Paul; brothers Richard Rosner and wife Twillet and William Rosner; nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the Donald R. Crawford Funeral Home, Hopwood, today from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8.
Visitation will continue on Saturday, October 17, 2009 in Cherry Tree Alliance Church, 640 Cherry Tree Lane, Uniontown, Pa., from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., the hour of the Service with the Rev. Robert Ellenberger officiating.
Interment will follow in Hopwood Cemetery.
