Eva Jane Bergeson, age 73, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 27, 2002 at University of Chicago Hospital with her family at her side.
Born July 14, 1929 in Joliet and a lifetime resident. A faithful member of Faith Bible Church where she was dedicated to serving the Lord through many church ministries. She was a member of the Joliet Historical Society Board of Directors for eight years), friends of Sunny Hill (Board of Directors eight years); also served on the Board of Directors of the Will County Senior Citizens and their advisory board. Jane retired in 1991 as a supervisor from the Joliet Public Library after 10 yrs of service. Previously employed with Joliet Public Schools as a secretary for 10 years.
Survived by her husband of 50 years, Duane E. Bergeson of Joliet; loving mother of Mary Jane (Dan) Heberer of Shorewood, Gail (Warren) Rendleman of New Lenox & Ted (MaryLou) Bergeson of Vista, CA. Proud grandmother of Danny,Andy and Catie Herberer; Caitlin & Cara Rendleman; Maegan, Lindsey and Erica Bergeson.
Also survived by one sister, Zelda (Jack) Ellis of Lockport, as well as numerous nieces & nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, Charles & Mary Eva Brayton.
Funeral services for Eva Jane Bergeson will be Friday, August 30, 2002 at Faith Bible Church, 1600 Schuster St., Joliet, where she will lie in state from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Dr. Jay C. Fernlund officiating.
Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to the Joliet Christian Youth Center would be appreciated. Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rd., Joliet. For information (815)741-5500.
