Hebba E. Bray Sr., 80, of Briarwood Road, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1998, due to complications of a stroke. He was born in Camden, N.C., and was a 50-year member of Pipefitters Local No. 110. He was a member of Doric Lodge No. 44, AF & AM, Chesapeake, a Shriner and a Hillbilly.
Survivors include his sister, Betty Lou Ward of Elizabeth City, N.C.; daughter, Ellen B. Wilson of Haymarket, Va.; sons, Hebba E. Bray Jr. and wife, Suzanne, of Virginia Beach, James F.H. Bray and wife, Pat, of Norfolk, and Thomas R. Bray of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Chapin E. Wilson III of Seattle, Wash., Christopher B. Wilson of Eureka, Calif., Amy A. Bray of Norfolk, Nathan E. Bray of Virginia Beach and Sara J. Bray of Norfolk; great-great-grandchild, Megan Wilson of Seattle; and his friend and companion of recent years, his dog, "Wrinkles".
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Twiford Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, Chesapeake, with the Rev. Johnnie McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
