BRAUER-Lawrence J. Brauer, 64, 1704 Carney Ave., died at 11:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 1968, in Rockford Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born Aug. 28, 1904, in WInnebago County, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Brauer. Lived all his life in Rockford. Married to the former Icle Wallack, February 23, 1954. Employed as an electrician by Ingersoll Milling Machine Co. for 28 years, retiring in Oct. 1968. Member of First Church of the Open Bible. Survivors include: his widow; two sons, Dale, Rockford, and Bradley, Orfordville, WI; two daughters, Mrs. Harriett Rupp, Irving, NY and Mrs. Wanetta Carlson, Rockford; and 25 grandchildren.
Services at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in First Church of the Open Bible, with Rev. Don Lyon, pastor, officiating. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Arrangements by Julian-Poorman Funeral Home, 304 N. 5th St. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. A memorial fund has been established in his name for the First Church of the Open Bible Missionary Fund.
