Obituary: Death Takes Mrs. Bathke. Funeral services for Mrs. Herman Bathke will be held at 2 o'clock Friday from the Peters Funeral Home with the Rev. V. F. Felton in charge. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery will follow. Mrs. Bathke died yesterday at 75 years of age after living in the Petoskey area for 58 years. Born in Pomerania, Germany, September 9, 1862, Mrs. Bathke came to the United States with her parents when nine years old. They settled at Matinsville, N. Y., and later came to Petoskey in 1879. Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Ray Eppler, of Resort; six sons, Frederick, Louis, Otto and Theodore, of Petoskey; Albert, of Morth Bay, and William, of Manistee; a brother , Paul Brauer, of North Bay; five sisters, Mrs. Minnie Schapler, Mrs. Charles Reberg and Mrs. Charles Strassenberg, of Petoskey; Mrs. Charles Foss, of Harbor Springs, and Mrs. Allen Grauel , of Kitchener, Ont. Mrs. Bathke was a charter member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and a member of the Ladies' Aid. She was a Gold Star Motheer and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. The body will be at the home at 119 State street where friends may call.
