Obit-Gonzales Inquirer Dec. 2, 1899
Leesville, Tex., Dec. 14, 1899.
Died, at her home near Leesville, Mrs. Louisa N. Bratton, wife of Mr. John Bratton, aged eighty-one years and six.
Weakened by chronic affection of throat and lungs and weight of many years, she gradually grew worse and worse until death's summons came and bore her away though fully prepared as she had been a true, faithful and consistent for sixty-one years and realizing her departure was near she patiently awaiting the hour.
Watching anxiously over her were her devoted husband, children, grandchildren and friends, and what a lesson to us all to witness her implicit confidence in the promises of God, and what great consolation to known her loss is her eternal gain, our sorrows are her entrance into eternal joy and bliss and that it is our privilege to again join her where sorrow and separation are no more.
In accordance with her request she was buried at Liberty grave yard near her old home for many years and around her bier stood a large concourse of sorrowing friends and relatives.
