Comanche, Okla. - BONNIE ARMSTRONG BRATCHER, 86, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012, in Meridian.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at the Corum Baptist Church, with Pastor Bruce Humphries officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow, Okla.
Bonnie was born Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1925, in Rush Springs, Okla., to Ed Adkins and Lula (Best) Adkins. She lived most of her life in the Marlow and Rush Springs area.
On Nov. 8, 1946, Bonnie married J. W. Armstrong in Columbus, Kan. He preceded her death in January 1972, after just over 25 years of marriage. In July 1974, Bonnie married Raymond Bratcher. He preceded her in death in 2001.
Bonnie enjoyed camping, gardening, and traveling to Las Vegas. When she was younger, Bonnie enjoyed sewing. She was a fantastic cook. Bonnie loved to read her Bible and do crossword puzzles when she was able. When it came to football, Bonnie was an avid OU fan. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. For the past 13 years, Bonnie was a member of the Corum Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, John Armstrong and wife Ann of Duncan, and Tommie Armstrong and wife Sue of Spring, Texas; six grandchildren, Shelly, Jennifer, Michelle, Amber, Tabitha and Lindy; four great-grandchildren, Lori, Alexis, Austin and Kain.
Bonnie was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, Aubrey Adkins, and sister, Ruby Bratcher.
Pallbearers will be Terry Armstrong, Aaron Warner, Cory Fredrickson and Tyler Harmeyer.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 3, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
