Abilene, Tx. - Jeannine Brannon, 83, passed away on Monday, Dec. 24, 2012 in Abilene.
Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Friday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 2 to 3 p.m. Friday at Greenwood Funeral Home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent to Hospice of the Big Country, 4601 Hartford, Abilene, Texas 79605.
Bobbie Jeannine (Etheridge) Brannon was born Sept. 30, 1929 in Abilene, Texas. As a child, Jeannine's family lived throughout Texas. She spent most of her life in the Fort Worth area. She graduated from Blum High School.
She married the love of her life, DeVerle "Hoot" Brannon in Fort Worth on Nov. 24, 1953. They lived in Fort Worth and then New Orleans, LA, moving back to Fort Worth in 1979. Jeannine and Hoot have three daughters: Sue Krazer and her husband Steve of Abilene; Sarah Brannon of Abilene; Debbie James and her husband Greg of Southport, NC.
Jeannine and Hoot travelled the world. She was an avid tennis player, collected antiques and had a particular interest in depression era glassware. After Hoot's retirement, they got involved in ranching near Dublin. Jeannine had names for all the cattle. She was a long-time member of the Bridgewood Church of Christ in Fort Worth and a recent member of the Westgate Church of Christ in Abilene. Jeannine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hoot and granddaughter, Amy.
Jeannine is survived by her daughters and three grandsons, Adam Krazer of Riverdale, NJ., Matt James of Honolulu, HI., and Luke James of Southport, NC.
