Gladys Almana Brannen Bowen (Namie), 95, died September 20, 2005, surrounded by her loving family. The Glennville native had lived in Savannah most of her life. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Temple. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Lawton Bowen; a son, Gerald Lawton Bowen; and a grandson, Jeffrey Jacobson. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Reba B. and Saxton Daniel and Wanda B. and Carl Daniels, all of Savannah; sons and daughters-in-law: Robert J. and Janie Bowen of Glennville; Glenn and Suzie Bowen of Savannah; and Jewel Bowen of Fleming; a sister, Bennie Moore of Glennville; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, at Carter Funeral Chapel in Glennville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 22, at Carter Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Beards Creek Church Cemetery. Remembrances can be made to Hospice of Savannah, 1352 Eisenhower Drive, Savannah, Georgia 31406.
