Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 22 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus at 10:00 AM with Fr. Tim Forget celebrating the Mass. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home with a 7:00 PM Vigil Service. Interment will be in the Bellwood Cemetery. Memorials are those of the donor's choice.
Margaret's first breaths were in the family home in Rogers, Nebraska, on January 25, 1914. God placed her in the keeping of Constantine and Anastasia (O'Fallon) Mares. Margaret was the third child of six children.
Margaret grew up in Rogers where she attended school and belonged to the St. Augustine's Youth Group. Margaret completed her education in Schuyler, Nebraska, getting her teaching certificate. Margaret then taught at District One in Colfax County for two years, in a one room school house. Margaret was a member of the Nebraska teacher's organization. Margaret was lifelong member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
An elopement with William Brandenburgh, on December 26, 1931, developed into a 65 year marriage and blessed Margaret with two sons, William and Bruce.

God blessed us with a 100 years of her unconditional love and took her home on Wednesday, November 19, she passed quietly in her sleep.
