Phyllis Elaine was born June 9, 1949 a daughter of Charles Upton Caldwell and Betty Jane Rice Brandenburg and was the wife of James Baer who survives her.

Phyllis was a 1968 graduate of Frederick High School. She worked for Food Country for a number of years and the Government Employees Insurance Co. in Gaithersburg as a filing clerk for a number of years also and providing care for the elderly that she took pride in.

In addition to her husband she is survived by one son, Mark Franklin Brandenburg and wife Susan "Sue" Marie, Knoxville and two step-grandchildren, Travis and Ciji Johnson, one brother, Ernie Lee Brandenburg Sr. and wife Shelia, Adamstown, four nephews, Ernie "Lee" Brandenburg Jr., "Ryan" Leon Brandenburg, "Christopher" Wayne Brandenburg and Joshua "David" Brandenburg, and was predeceased by a brother who was a victim of the Vietnam War, killed in action, Charles Franklin Brandenburg.

Funeral held at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home with the Rev. Stephen W. Humphrey officiating with internment made in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Hansonville by Keeney Basford funeral directors.
