Gordon R. Brand, 89, of Lafayette, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis.
He was born May 5, 1920 in Dayton, Indiana to the late Hobart and Margaret Yost Brand. He married Mildred Taylor on April 17, 1943, in Mulberry, Indiana. She died Feb. 3, 1999.
Surviving are three daughters, Diana Thelen (husband: Richard) of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Denise Smith (husband: Harold) and Robin Collier (husband: Wayne), both of Lafayette; four sisters, Rose Thompson of Burbank, California, Marjorie Gilbert, Julia Morrison (husband: Donald) and Nancy Buck (husband: James), all of Lafayette; two brothers, Lee Brand of West Lafayette and Lowell Brand of Lafayette; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Gerald Brand.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
