Daniel Thomas Bramstedt Sr., age 56, of Sheboygan, died on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at his home with his family at his side. He was born in Sheboygan on July 21, 1958, the son of Wayne and Patricia (Heimer) Bramstedt.
Daniel was baptized at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church and confirmed at St. George Catholic Church and attended Sheboygan South High School. He was a machinist for Thomas Industries from 1978 to 2009.
Music was a passion for Dan and he enjoyed teaching himself how to play the guitar. He also liked bowling, shooting pool and bass fishing. Dan was the family mechanic, he would fix cars, lawn equipment and other items. He enjoyed spending time with Drake, the family's golden retriever. Dan was always helpful, lending a hand even during his illness. He was patient, he liked to joke around and always had a ready smile. Dan took pride in being an American as well.
Dan, Bree and Drake made a loving family. Each of them loving and supporting the other through difficult times. Bree showed her love and commitment to Dan every day of his illness.
Survivors include the love of his life, Bree Polzin; a daughter, Nicole, son, Daniel, son, Dustin; parents, Wayne and Patricia Bramstedt, all of Sheboygan; his brother, David A. (Vicky) Bramstedt, of Sheboygan Falls; Bree's son and daughter; Bree's brothers; Bree's sister, and his paternal grandmother, Delores Bramstedt, all of Sheboygan. Dan is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Victor Bramstedt, maternal grandparents, Alfred and Cordula Heimer, aunts and uncles, Bree's sister, Carol Kober.
A memorial service for Daniel will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at 6:00 P.M. at Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, S. 12th St., Sheboygan with Rev. Richard Cerpich, officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00P.M. until the time of service at 6:00 P.M.. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.
