Alda Grace Brown Brady, 89, died Sunday, January 8, 2012 following complications from a stroke.

Prior to living at Bayberry Assisted Living in Greenwood, S.C., Mrs. Brady had been living in McCormick, South Carolina with her daughter Jo and son-in-law, Gene Graziano.

Mrs. Brady attended nursing school at the Indiana Hospital, Indiana, PA, in 1940 but her education was interrupted by the war. She married Lisle Brady in 1942 (deceased 1984).

In 1951 Alda and family built the Brady Trailer Park on Route 422 in Indiana, which she managed for more than 10 years. She also handled the business for Brady Farm and Golf Course Drainage and Irrigation from 1948 to 1986. Alda worked as a volunteer for the Red Cross and Junior Red Cross for 25 years (1944-1969). She and Lisle were active in the Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship for many years. Al established the Christian Counseling Center (1984-1989) and Meals-on-Wheels in Indiana County. She retired to the Christian Retreat in Bradenton, Florida in 1991, where she was active in many Christian Outreach activities.

Alda, born January 5, 1923 in Indiana County, was the daughter of George M. Brown and Cora Smeltzer Brown, both deceased.

She is survived by her brother, Melvin Brown (married to Inez, in Canton, Ohio), and her sister Beatrice Brown Ireland, (married to Jum Ireland, in Bluff City, Tennessee), and three daughters: Carol Packo, married to David Packo of Lindenhurst, Illinois; Jo Graziano, married to Gene Graziano of McCormick, South Carolina; and Sharon Kay Schilling, married to Robert Schilling of New Castle, Pennsylvania.

Memorial services will be held in Indiana, Pennsylvania in July. Final arrangements have not been made.
