ADKINS, Macy Bradner, 87, of Penhook, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2001. Born June 17, 1913, she was a member of Museville Christian Church and was the daughter of the late William Albert and Lucy Bates Bradner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Adkins, Sr. and a grandson, John R. Jamison. Surviving are two daughters, Peggy A. Jamison and Margie A. Shytle, both of Martinsville; three sons, Clyde Adkins, Jr. of Glade Hill, James "Shorty" Adkins and Dallas Adkins, both of Penhook; one sister, Geraldine Easome of Penhook; one brother, Percy Bradner of Bassett; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Ronda Whitlock, Carla Hodges and Doris Rigney. Graveside services will be held Friday, May 4, 2001 at 11 a.m. in the Adkins Family Cemetery, Sago, by the Rev. Ted Clifton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Snow Creek Rescue Squad or the Cool Branch Rescue Squad. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday evening at Lynch Funeral Home and other times at the home of James "Shorty" Adkins.
